Renowned and revered the world over as one of the greatest saxophone players of all-time, David Sanborn is an artist whose music has inspired countless other musicians and has been instrumental in the music industry. Although a pioneer in the sound of Smooth Jazz, David is one of the most versatile saxophone players at date, crossing genres and creating a body of work that trends rock ‘n’ roll, R&B, pop and jazz.

As a naturally gifted performer, he was the host of the popular television show “Night Music” which made perfect sense for David to become an integral part of The Smooth Jazz Cruise as Host of Special Music Nights.

David has appeared on other Jazz Cruises, LLC programs, having been a guest on both The North Sea Jazz Cruise and the Dave Koz & Friends at Sea cruise. This will be the first “hosting” turn for David on a cruise and we are looking forward to enjoying him in that new role. David and Marcus Miller, over the years, have combined for some of the most memorable music of this genre and it will be a rare and exciting treat to hear them “play their hits” once again live on The Smooth Jazz Cruise stage. You can debate several issues in music, but not who is the most important saxophone player in this genre, for that is simply David Sanborn.
